Sushi and rolls are dishes, the main ingredients of which are rice and rice vinegar, fish (in most recipes – raw), wasabi, seaweed (nori), ginger and soy sauce. They are especially useful because most of the seafood used for their preparation is not subjected to heat treatment, therefore, they contain a high content of vitamins, minerals and other nutrients.

Nori is a source of calcium, iron and iodine. Wasabi contains antioxidants and vitamin C, in addition, it helps protect the teeth from caries and has antiseptic properties. In turn, ginger improves digestion and has anti-inflammatory properties.

In addition, these dishes are low-calorie and nourishing, and their main ingredients – fish and rice – fit well together and are suitable for those who adhere to separate food. That`s why there was even a so-called sushi diet, according to which once a week it is necessary to arrange a kind of unloading day, during which you can only sushi and rolls.

Despite the fact that Japanese cuisine is very useful, there are some negative aspects of the use of sushi and rolls. So, do not abuse them allergies (red fish, which is used for sushi, for such people can be a powerful allergen) and those who suffer from gastritis, peptic ulcer disease or have any pathology of the gastrointestinal tract.

Another danger lies in the fact that the”Japanese” dishes cooked in our country can hardly be similar to the original ones. So, for example, if in Japan raw fish are added to the land only fresh, then it can lie not only for several hours, but also for 24 hours, which makes this product dangerous enough for the body. Therefore, it is worth to avoid”Japanese” restaurants of dubious reputation.

In addition, according to the recommendations of doctors, whenever possible, it is worth giving preference to those sushi and rolls, in which raw fish is replaced with salted salmon, smoked eel or boiled shrimp. In addition, in order not to poison low-quality dishes, before you start eating sushi or rolls, they should definitely sniff. It is not necessary to eat them, if there is a smell reminiscent of ammonia.
